(13 Days - Departs Daily on a Private Basis)
Bangkok, Golden Triangle, Chiang Mai, Phuket
Thailand is the ultimate romantic destination offering perfect opportunities for adventure, relaxation, pampering and the utmost of luxurious indulgence. It has some of the world’s most luxurious hotels and decadent resorts, top-class spas with centuries-old massage techniques, high-style, incredible food and beautiful landscapes.
Of course, romance often springs from more traditional moments too; an exclusive “elephant safari” in the Golden Triangle jungle, a luxury secluded hideaway in the north, sit down candlelit dinner, and sundowners from mountaintops and from a remote beach. This tour is perfect for such a romantic adventure.
Begin in Bangkok. With your private guide explore Bangkok’s most unusual Buddhist temples, the Chedis of the Kings and the invaluable golden Buddha weighing over 5 tons. Enjoy a fascinating, private long-tail boat tour through Bangkok's canals, the colourful markets and shop for exquisite Thai silks and art work. Also enjoy opportunities to swim, play tennis, and dine on some of Southeast Asia’s best cuisine.
Next, fly to Chiang Rai in the Golden Triangle, and stay at an exclusive safari-style tented camp. While there, explore the valleys and waterways where Laos, Thailand and Myanmar (Burma) meet along the Mekong River. Discover religious temples, military fortifications, ethnic tribes and artistic artefacts, not forgetting the culinary delights. Visit an elephant camp and spend time with a professional mahout (elephant handler) and learn to ride and work with these fascinating animals.
From the Golden Triangle, you will be privately driven to Chiang Mai where you will stay at one of Asia’s most luxurious and atmospheric resorts, surrounded by mountains and lush fields of terraced rice paddies. With your private guide explore the city of Chiang Mai, with a wealth of beautiful and historic Buddhist wats (temples) and the royal family’s Winter Palace. You will have enough time at leisure to browse craft markets or enjoy the resort's spa, cooking school, golf, or pool.
Next, fly to one of the Phuket Islands in the south and enjoy at one of Thailand's leading luxury resorts. Spend your days relaxing on pristine beaches, indulging at the spa, swimming, playing tennis or golf, taking cooking classes or yoga lessons, diving, or exploring nearby islands by luxury boat. Take a yacht cruise one day to Phang Nga Bay, and enjoy free time to indulge at the spa and relax on the picturesque beach.

Getting There Thailand has four international airports; in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Hat Yai, but Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport is the country's major gateway. Practically every airline carrier that flies to Asia also flies into Bangkok. This means there are plenty of services and the competition on the routes helps to keep the ticket prices down. There are now a throng of low-cost-carriers serving Southeast Asia, led by KL-based AirAsia. It can be cost effective to fly from your home country to Bangkok, Singapore or KL with a traditional carrier, then pick up a LCC flight to your final destination.
When to go The best time to visit most of Thailand is between November and February as it is the coolest time of year and it rains the least. March-Jun brings the hot season when sightseeing is best scheduled for morning or late afternoon. The best way of cooling off during hot season is to join the Thai Water Festival generally held in mid-April. Rains start in July through October. The temperature during these months tends to be cooler, tourists are fewer and the landscape is lush and green. The rain isn't permanent though - it comes in bursts and cools things down after it has gone.
