Bali Mojo Island

Bali Mojo Island

Bali Mojo Island
Moyo (Mojo) Island is located north of Sumbawa within the West Nusa Tenggara province in Indonesia. It is probably the most rewarding destination in Sumbawa, surrounded by beautiful coral reefs, exotic wildlife and is a great place for adventure. Two thirds of Pulau Moyo is actually a game reserve. The central plateau with its grassy savannah land and intermittent forested areas is ideal for Deer as well as the feral cattle released there.

The coastline has some beautiful beaches of fine coral sand unlike the black volcanic sand found on a lot of islands in the archipelago. There are beautiful coral reefs, which make it excellent for scuba diving or just snorkelling. The reef at the southern end of the island is probably the best of all. Recommended accommodation: Amankila in Candidasa, Amanwana in Moyo Island, Four Seasons at Sayan in Ubud and Amanjiwo in Yogyakarta.

And, experience wilderness excursions and white sandy beaches.

Bali Mojo Island Nature walks, mountain bike rides, wildlife excursions and white sandy beaches.
(13 Days - Departs Daily on a Private Basis)
Bali, Moyo Island, Java

This tour visits three islands in Indonesia and features the most interesting cultural touring, scenic landscapes, and adventure activities in each destination. There are options for nature walks, mountain bike rides, wildlife excursions and free time to relax on the beach or by the resort's pool.

Begin in Bali, also known as the 'Island of the Gods' and the most famous island in Indonesia. Stay for three nights at an exclusive resort perched on a cliff high above the ocean near Candidasa.

Enjoy free time to relax on the soft sand beaches, go surfing or take a colourful ‘jukung’ fishing boat, it is a perfect place to holiday. During flexible private touring, visit revered temples, royal palaces, and Balinese villages known for their high-quality weavings, silk and traditional architecture. Enjoy free time to relax on the beach or by the resort's spectacular tiered infinity pool overlooking the ocean, and dine on superb Balinese cuisine.

Next, take the short flight to Moyo Island, a small nature and wildlife reserve east of Bali. For lovers of nature and the underwater world, Moyo Island offers a pristine environment with rugged coastlines and a grassy savannah home to a variety of wildlife.

Stay at the island’s only resort, a 5-star luxurious tent-style retreat surrounded by lush forests and turquoise waters. Take guided nature walks, mountain bike rides or wildlife excursions.  One day, enjoy a spectacular snorkelling excursion to a nearby reef. If travelling between February and March, you could spot whale sharks, giant manta rays and other migrating sea life.

Return to Bali for a three-night stay in Ubud , the cultural heart of Bali, where the spirit and culture of the island are most accessible. For more than a century, it has been the island's preeminent centre for fine arts, dance and music. Once a haven for scruffy backpackers, cosmic seekers, artists and bohemians; Ubud is now a hot spot for literati, glitterati, art collectors and connoisseurs.

Request for flexible touring of lush rice terraces, small villages, art and craft communities, ancient temples and palaces or try one of the many spas, yoga and meditation centres that are big news here, particularly after the bestselling Eat, Pray, Love.

Next, fly the short distance to Yogyakarta, the cradle of civilization in Java. Once the seat of power, it has magnificent temples of Prambanan and Borobudur, one of Southeast Asia’s greatest religious relics. Stay at the Amanjiwo, a favourite Aman resort, located in the lush hills overlooking Borobudur.

With a private guide, visit Borobudur at dawn, the most magical time to visit. Take a private tour to explore one of Asia’s oldest treasures; old houses, museums and handicraft shops dot the city with woodcarvings, paintings and silverwork amongst the crafts on offer. Other activities include hiking and biking or a lesson in meditation.

When to go In general, Bali and Lombok have similar weather, though Lombok is dried and receives less rain than Bali. The hot and sticky rainy season lasts October to March with the worst falling between December and February. From June to August, the temperature drops slightly and there is usually a refreshing cool breeze in the air. The best time to travel is the dry season, from April to September. It is also when humidity is at its lowest.
